When
God ushered in the new covenant of grace, He sent His beloved Son Jesus and not
a new set of commandments. So grace is a person, not a doctrine. And every
blessing that we would ever need is inseparable from the person of Jesus!
Christianity
is not a formula. God did not look down on us, see us in our sins and throw us
an instruction manual. No. God so loved the world that He gave us a person —
His Son, Jesus Christ. The Lord being with you is all that you need because the
Lord Himself is the one who blesses you with righteousness, holiness, success,
victory, favour, provision, healing, wisdom and much more!
Contrary to popular opinion, the Bible is not a book of rules or
laws to learn and fulfill in order to live right. The Bible is all about the
person of Jesus and His finished work on the cross. And there is no
insignificant detail in the Bible. Every page of the Bible speaks of Jesus— who
is the object of God's delight!
In the Old Testament, you will find hidden pictures of Jesus. Many
characters, such as Joseph and King David, are typologies of Jesus, and many of
the stories offer us a glimpse of the glory and beauty of our Lord Jesus'
finished work.
For example, in the story of Abraham, the strong and youthful Isaac carrying the
wood up Mount Moriah is actually a picture of Jesus who would later carry the
cross up Mount Calvary to be crucified for our sins in our place.
In the story of Ruth, her willing and able kinsman redeemer Boaz is a picture
of Jesus who would come to redeem us from our sins. And, in the Book of
Leviticus, the different aspects of Jesus' sufferings and work on the cross are
carefully detailed in the descriptions of the five offerings.
Then, in the New Testament, Jesus is revealed in all His majesty and glory. He
is the Prince of Peace who rebuked the storms and calmed the hearts of His
disciples. He is the all-compassionate and loving Healer who healed the woman
who touched the hem of His garment.
Today, when you open your Bible, I want to encourage you to zoom in straight on
Jesus. When you come to God's Word, desiring to see Jesus, you will find Him.
And when you do, something miraculous happens to you. You will find His
abundant life flooding every area of your life!
The Bible tells us that God's words "are life
to those who find them, and health to all their flesh". (Proverbs 4:22)
And Jesus Himself said these amazing words, "...I have come that they may
have life,
and that they may have it more abundantly." (John 10:10)
Beloved, I believe that you step into this abundant life when you see Jesus in
the Word. This means that if you are tired, reading God's Word will recharge
and energize you. If you are depressed, it will pull you out of the darkness of
depression, set your mind free and bring peace and joy. And if you are sick, it
will bring a flood of healing and divine health to your body!
In fact, receiving God's life includes experiencing revival and resurrection in
barren or dead areas of your life. God's life is what you need when you see
signs of death in your circumstances.
Is your marriage failing? Have your dreams been crushed or put on the back
burner? Are your finances dissolving in a sea of debt? If there is death
operating in any area of your life, don't despair and don't lose hope! See Jesus
in the Word and receive His supply of life.

Corinthians 1:30 says “But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us
wisdom from God —and righteousness and sanctification and redemption–“ Now,
that is wonderful! Notice that God does not dispense wisdom apart from Jesus.
He is our wisdom! We don’t have a sanctification or holiness that is
manufactured or flawed. Jesus is our holiness! His person is our redemption!
God
is not saying, “I will give you healing,” or “I will provide you with health.” He
is saying, “I AM your health! I AM your healing!” Health, healing, provision
and supply, are not just things or gifts that God gives you. God gives you
Jesus. He is whatever you need.
Dear
beloved, it's my heartfelt desire that you read the Bible with fresh eyes.
God's Word is not just any book; it is His precious love letter to you! In
every book, chapter and page, as you see Jesus and what He has accomplished for
you through His sacrifice on the cross, you will also realize how passionately
God the Father loves you.
So get into God's Word today, and rest under the waterfall of His love and
grace. Abundant life is found in the person of Jesus. Everything we need in
life is not hidden somewhere that you have to find but in the revelation of
Jesus through the word of God.
